A winner in more ways than one!

Congratulations to 20-year-old Ruben Duggen, who has just been awarded the HIP Learner of the Year 2022 accolade! He’d already won the regional heats for Wales in March, where he’s a student at the Coleg y Cymoedd in Ystrad Myach, but hadn’t expected to walk away with the top prize last week! Ruben may only be just out of his teens, but he’s a man who knows his boilers, and is an advocate of Intergas: “Who wouldn’t want to fit the best on the market in reliability and versatility?” We quite agree Ruben!! And we have Ruben’s dad, Sean Duggan, to thank for the introduction. Over the past 12 years Sean, who runs Power Serv and is based in Blackwood, South Wales, has fitted around 250 of our boilers and has only had six call backs in all that time. So, when Ruben completes his Level 3 NVQ qualification in Plumbing and Domestic Heating, will he be joining the family firm, or will he be lured further afield? His new status as the nation’s apprentice of the year will be attractive to many employers.

FYI, Ruben was given a bumper pack of amazing prizes when he won the regional heats, but he’s got even more now after winning at national level! All the prizes were given by the competitions sponsors: Worcester Bosch, Wilo, Kingspan, Triton Showers, Graham the Plumber’s Merchant, Stelrad, Wednesbury Copper Tube, Talon and VW Commercial Vehicles.
