COVID-19 ETIQUETTE!

It’s official, some people just don’t know the difference between two metres and two inches! To ensure you’re always protected, especially as the rate of infection differs from region to region, we wanted to remind you of the five steps you should continue to follow. We’ve also created an email you can send in advance to your customers, so they’re aware of how they should behave during your appointment. Please click here to see it and feel free to personalise it for your company.

Here are the key points:

  1. Confirm that your customer is not experiencing any symptoms of Covid-19 since booking the appointment.
  2. If they’ve been advised to self-isolate, you cannot enter the property. The appointment must be rebooked.
  3. Contact must be kept to a minimum; if possible, the customer should stay in another room during the repair.
  4. Bring your own drinks and snacks.
  5. Wear PPE (mask and gloves) for everyone’s protection and, once repair is completed, wipe down all surfaces you’ve been working on with antibacterial wipes/solution.

Pre-appointment email to your customer – feel free to use as your own:

Dear (insert name)

This is to confirm that (name) will be at your property on (date) at (time). In order to protect you and our staff during this appointment, we need to make you aware of the following:

  1. We have already confirmed with you that no one in your household is experiencing any symptoms of Covid-19. If this has changed, you must advise us before our installer arrives.
  2. If anyone is now having to self-isolate, our installer cannot come to your property; the appointment will have to be rebooked.
  3. It’s important that both you and the installer observe the 2 metre social distancing rule. This is not always easy, so we advise that you stay in another room while the repair is being carried out.
  4. Our installer will bring any drinks or snacks needed for subsistence.
  5. Our installer will wear a mask and gloves for everyone’s protection. The appliance and working area will be wiped down with an antibacterial wipes or solution when the repair is completed.
