NO MORE FROZEN CONDENSATE PIPES

Michael King of Michael King Plumbing & Heating has just used Condensate PRO for the first time to insulate the external condensate pipework of his customer’s boiler. “It was quick and easy to install, the finish looked really neat and my customer was happy; it’s given me peace of mind too.” He found out about Condensate PRO on LinkedIn, and because he installs a lot of Intergas boilers and saw that we’re a main distributer, he thought he’d give it a try. He used the connection kit and termination kit and was very impressed.  If you’d like to see how it’s done, just take a look at our installation video https://www.intergasheating.co.uk/installer/products/condensate-pro/)

For the record, all external condensate pipework should be installed and insulated in accordance with BS 6798: 2014. The British Standard was updated to help prevent frozen condensate pipes by increasing the pipe diameter to 30mm ID (typically 32mm OD) before it exits the property, and by using Class O insulation. But the condensate can still freeze during prolonged periods of sub-zero temperatures because Class O insulation cannot be made weathertight and allows water ingress, which freezes during adverse weather conditions, exacerbating the situation. Class O is also not UV tolerant, so it degrades over time drastically reducing its ability to insulate against freezing. Due to the shortcomings of this type of insulation, we recommend using the kits made by Condensate PRO, which should prevent the nightmare of frozen condensate pipes forever. Thanks to Condensate PRO’s unique design and PipeSnug wall seal, you won’t need to increase the 19mm (typically 21.5mm OD) solvent weld pipework before it exits the property, which means existing condense pipework can easily be upgraded without disturbing the interior décor when core drilling new holes. All Condensate PRO’s kits are UV tolerant too. In the past insulating the pipework could be intrusive, time-consuming and hard to cost. Well Condensate Pro overcomes all these issues, making the entire process incredibly easy. And it’s ready to use, out of the box.

If you’d like a little more information, please read on… Condensate PRO fits any condensate pipe installation with specially designed UV/water resistant lagging and bond and seal adhesive. It fits onto 32mm or 21.5mm overflow pipes and the connection and terminations are pre-insulated to make life easier when fitting. The products offer a complete solution for every external termination – gully waste, soakaways, rainwater and soil pipes. The drift kit and grinder head help achieve a clean, faultless fitting on existing installations and uneven masonry. It is also ideal for installers upgrading existing condensate pipes. A 76mm grinder head is also available, designed to grind a three-inch flat face against irregular faced stonework, creating a perfect surface for the connection kit.
