IT NEVER RAINS

If this pandemic wasn’t bad enough, please spare a thought for 76-year-old Stuart Mellard.  On 25th February, after days of very heavy rainfall, the rive Aire burst its banks and flooded the village of Snaith in the East Riding of Yorkshire. Stuart, who suffers from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) had to evacuate fast as he could. Within hours, the flood waters had reached the ceilings of his ground floor rooms; everything was ruined. Because his previous home had suffered from flood damage in 2000 (yes, the Aire again), he couldn’t get insurance cover, so he was in a bit of a fix. Luckily he has a large family, so everyone helped with the clean-up, but all fixtures, fittings, furniture and appliances had to be bought. When installer Keith Monnox of KGM Plumbing approached us for help, we didn’t hesitate, and donated an Xclusive combi and flue, which was installed over the last bank holiday weekend. The kitchen’s now been fitted, the carpets laid, and Stuart moved in on Father’s Day, surrounded by  his large and very loyal family. Belated Happy Father’s Day Stuart!
