FAQs about Air Source Heat Pumps

Air source heating is highly efficient, delivering far more heat per unit of energy than even the most modern gas boilers. Our Xceed air source heat pumps are up to 300% more efficient than boilers.

Absolutely. Heat pumps in general remain efficient in all weathers, and our Xceed units are able to operate in temperatures as low as -25℃ – far lower than typical winter temperatures in the UK.

Air source heat pump installation is a straightforward process, especially with our monobloc systems. Your Intergas installer will fit a hot water cylinder inside your home, and the heat pump itself outside your property. Both units will need to be connected, tested and commissioned, and then it’ll be ready to use!

The increasing popularity of heat pump systems is being driven by a few things, but principally it can be attributed to increasing concern about climate change and government incentives. Air source heat pumps are incredibly efficient, and allow homeowners to drastically reduce their carbon footprints. Additionally, the UK government is currently offering grants of up to £7,500 to help with the cost of heat pump installation.

Until 2028, UK homeowners can benefit from a grant of as much as £7,500 towards the cost of an air source heat pump installation via the Boiler Upgrade Scheme. Typically, installers will apply for the discount on your behalf, and deduct the £7,500 from your final bill.

We do. As well as our range of standalone Xceed heat pumps, we also produce a selection of hybrid air source heat pumps. These combine a heat pump with a small but powerful combi boiler, giving you access to instant hot water year round while slashing your energy usage.

Air source heat pumps are a highly energy-efficient way to heat your home, delivering up to three times the efficiency of modern combi boilers. They work by extracting heat from the air outside your home, amplifying it and using it to provide hot water for your central heating and taps.

Air source heating is the leading edge in zero carbon home heating technology, meaning you can warm your home without the need for fossil fuels.
